It is with the greatest of regret and sadness that Build Lebanon Trails has to announce the cancellation of our next two outdoor public events, the Peterson Butte Hike and our annual fundraiser the Cheadle Lake Run and Kids’ Obstacle Dash. Build Lebanon Trails wishes to support a healthy lifestyle and outdoor activity within our community, but with the multiple unknowns at this time related to the novel coronavirus, Covid-19, we are in agreement with the Centers for Disease Control, the Federal government, State government and, our Local government that group activities which may lead to the further spread of the virus need to be cancelled or postponed.
The board of directors acknowledges that the Peterson Butte Hike, though not part of the Trail System Plan for the City of Lebanon, is of great interest to the community and we will sorely miss the opportunity to host this unique and special hike for the public in 2020.
As for the Cheadle Lake Run and Kids’ Obstacle Dash, having to cancel this event does impact our fundraising efforts, especially as the proceeds for the 2020 event were to be dedicated to the Old Mill Trail segment $50,000.00 matching funds pledge by one of wonderful community supporters. The matching funds pledge means ever $1.00 donated to Build Lebanon Trails for the Old Mill Trail segment will be matched by $1.00, up the $50,000.00 limit. This matching funds pledge is good through 12/31/2021.
For those of you who have already made sponsorship donations or registered to participate in the event, more information will be directed to you within the near future.
Stay healthy and thank you for your support of Build Lebanon Trails!
